Welcome to Steps to Healing Counseling
Where the next step becomes possible….
Proudly serving Colorado and California!
Our mission is to empower individuals to shed the burdens of the past and step confidently toward the lives they envision, one transformative step at a time.
You deserve a place where you feel understood, supported, and safe to explore the parts of your life that feel heavy or confusing. I offer a warm, grounded presence and a collaborative approach to help you move toward healing at your own pace
Everyone’s story is different, but many people come to therapy carrying experiences that feel overwhelming, isolating, or difficult to navigate alone. I support clients working through:
Trauma
Anxiety
Depression
Grief and loss
Relationship Issues
Life transitions
Healing often begins when we understand the protective patterns we’ve developed to survive painful experiences. I use approaches like EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you make sense of these patterns and move toward greater clarity and self‑compassion.
If you’re ready to begin your healing process, I’m here to support you with warmth, curiosity, and care. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Evidence-Based Mental Health Solutions
Therapy with me is a place where you can slow down and actually hear yourself think and feel. Most people come in carrying a lot, and the first thing we do is create enough space for you to breathe and settle. Sessions are steady and grounded, and we move at a pace that feels safe for you.
In the early appointments, we spend time getting to know your story and what life feels like for you right now. I want to understand what brought you in, what you’ve already tried, and what you hope might change. We also talk about the different parts of your identity and history that shape how you move through the world. This helps us build a shared understanding of where we’re starting and where you want to go.
As we continue working together, our conversations often explore the different parts of your internal world and how they interact. Some sessions are about making sense of old patterns. Others are about noticing what is happening inside you in the moment. When trauma work becomes part of the process, we approach it with care and intention so you feel supported and never rushed.
The heart of the work is collaboration. I check in with you often about what feels helpful and what doesn’t. You guide the direction, and I’m there to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling more grounded and more connected to yourself, with a growing sense of trust in your own capacity to heal.

Our first session is about slowing down, getting to know you, and understanding what brings you in. There’s no need to prepare anything or have the “perfect” words. We’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you, what you hope for, and how we might work together in a way that feels safe and supportive.
-
Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum and progress towards their goals. As things begin to shift and stabilize, we may move to biweekly or another rhythm that supports your goals.
-
There’s no one right timeline. Some people come in with a specific concern and feel relief in a handful of sessions. Others are working through deeper patterns or trauma and choose to stay longer. We’ll check in regularly about how things are feeling and what you need.
-
You’re not alone. Many people come in carrying past experiences that didn’t feel helpful or safe. We’ll move at your pace, and you’ll have full permission to name what hasn’t worked for you in the past. Your comfort and agency matter here.
-
Finding the right therapist is important. If at any point it feels like your needs would be better supported elsewhere, I’ll help you find someone who aligns with what you’re looking for. You deserve care that truly fits.

My fee is $150 per appointment. I know that investing in therapy is a meaningful decision, and I want the process to feel as clear and straightforward as possible. Many clients use their HSA/FSA cards. If cost is a concern, we can talk openly about options and find a path that feels manageable.

Not at all. A stable internet connection and a private space are usually enough. Headphones can help with privacy and sound quality, but they’re optional.
